The 5th Annual Postgraduate Synposium on Nanotechnology was a big success. Many thanks to all of the sponsors, presenters and organisers. This year, we had 130 delegates from across all disciplines related with nanotechnology (Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy, Materials Science, Engineering, Environmental or Medical Sciences). There were 22 Oral contributions and 50 Poster Presentations from universities all across the UK.

Elena Perez from Marc's Koper group is visiting us looking for the golden touch!




Electrochemistry is present in a broad range of technologies including energy conversion and storage – new battery systems, fuel cells, super capacitors, and solar cells. But electrochemistry is also present in environmental remediation (electrochemical treatment of waste water), hydrometallurgy, corrosion, industrial synthesis, surface finishing, electroplating and sensors, medical applications and bio-electrochemistry (e.g., drug delivery and gene transfer to cells and tissues, ion electrophoresis, and skin electroporation, injury and repair). Nowadays, more and more people have daily contact with electrochemistry, though they may not know it. Electrochemistry is all around us and is gaining more attention from industry.
